Nutrition is what we are made of. Without nutrients, your body would not be able to live. Without a balanced diet, your body isn’t able to function optimally.
Minerals are the spark plugs of life
Most of us take our bodies for granted, but if you stop to think like this you understand that the human body performs amazing feats every day. The millions of tiny cells in your body require essential nutrients to grow, develop and work together in perfect harmony. These essential nutrients, those that your body needs but cannot produce, include the inorganic substances found in foods known as minerals.
In the context of nutrition, a mineral is a chemical element required as an essential nutrient by organisms to perform functions necessary for life. Minerals originate in the earth and cannot be made by living organisms. Plants get minerals from soil. Most of the minerals in a human diet come from eating plants and animals or from drinking water. As a group, minerals are one of the four groups of essential nutrients. Also, when you don’t feel well you might be more prone to use herbs that are said to either relax or boost up energy or do other stimulants like coffee or an energy drink. Usually in these situations people overdo stimulants. We are “smart” enough to realize that these substances affect our biochemistry, but not well-informed enough to understand how they can also create biochemical chaos.
