It’s easy to feel some frustration or despair when you learn that one out of every four deaths is from cancer. Every kind of health problem is increasing. Never before seen diseases and disorders appearing.
Every cell in our body is continually adapting in an attempt to achieve homeostasis. The poor societal and environmental conditions that are threatening our lives are also pushing us to make life-sustaining changes.
Nutrition is what we are made of. Without nutrients, your body would not be able to live. Without a balanced diet, your body isn’t able to function optimally.
Most of us take our bodies for granted, but if you stop to think like this you understand that the human body performs amazing feats every day. The millions of tiny cells in your body require essential nutrients to grow, develop and work together in perfect harmony. These essential nutrients, those that your body needs but cannot produce, include the inorganic substances found in foods known as minerals.
In the context of nutrition, a mineral is a chemical element required as an essential nutrient by organisms to perform functions necessary for life. Minerals originate in the earth and cannot be made by living organisms. Plants get minerals from soil. Most of the minerals in a human diet come from eating plants and animals or from drinking water. As a group, minerals are one of the four groups of essential nutrients. Minerals have vast and varied roles in the body including healthy growth and development, transportation, regulating heart beat, building strong bones and ensuring the nervous system functions correctly.
When we speak about Nutritional Restoration, we refer to the fact that our bodies are self-regulating. The goal is to assist the self-regulatory mechanisms in order to restore health.
Adaptations are the way the body alters itself, changing mineral and vitamin levels, temperature, blood sugar levels, attitudes, etc., to survive in the best way possible, given the circumstances. In a nutritional restoration program, foods, vitamins and minerals are used to remove the need for adaptations. Using nutrition to push the body in such a way that it moves back toward normal functioning. The closer the body moves back to homeostasis, which is his natural state, the better you will feel.
These nutrients must be obtained from your diet.
If your diet does not provide the key minerals required to support fundamental biological processes, and therefore you are deficient of something “essential“ your body will not function well and begins to degenerate.
“There is no such thing as “medical disease…” There is only metabolic dysfunction” that is caused by mineral deficiencies…”
-Morley Robbins-
It is common to be well-fed yet malnourished no matter how good your diet is.
Deciding is how much nutrition is effectively absorbed and utilized.
As you might read before in our articles, proper nutrition is critical and a lack or a toxic burden leads to the majority of health problems (thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, fatigue, intolerance against food /chemicals and many more).
Modern life has changed our nutritional needs enormous.
Eating, sleeping, and movement are the basic building blocks of health.
But nearly nobody is able to balance them in the right ratios.
We don’t eat well enough or too much, sleeping to little, exercising too much or not at all.
All these factors interfere already with metabolic processes. It is also well-established that the mineral composition of soil has been on a downward spiral since many years and foods simply doesn’t give us the needed nutrients anymore. In addition, today´s environment is exposing us persistently with toxic heavy metals so mineral deficiencies are rampant today. Also, due to the poor quality food which most of us are consuming. It is well-established that the mineral composition of soil has been on a downward spiral since many years.
The ratio of the protective nutrient minerals relative to toxic metals in your tissue indicate harm being done by these toxins.
Heavy metals interfere with normal metabolic processes due to their ability to displace nutritional minerals. They also interrupt enzyme functions by their attachment to proteins.
Health depends upon having the preferred minerals to properly activate enzymes, that are the chemical compounds which facilitate or enable a chemical reaction to take place. There are preferred minerals for some enzymes. If that mineral isn’t present it will use a second or third choice mineral to keep functioning, but this will result in poor health.
Minerals are also necessary in the production of hormones. For example, Zinc is involved in the production, storage, and secretion of insulin and is also necessary for growth hormones.
You might try to take care of some extra nutrition by using a Vitamin or Mineral supplement.
But every single mineral effects every other mineral. When one single mineral level is imbalanced, all the other minerals are affected too.
You need to understand how great harm you can cause by taking even one vitamin or mineral supplement you do not need.
Poor nutrition guarantees poor health. How can one know what their own diet is lacking in without testing?
Also, when you don’t feel well you might be more prone to use herbs that are said to either relax or boost up energy or do other stimulants like coffee or an energy drink. Usually in these situations people overdo stimulants. We are “smart” enough to realize that these substances affect our biochemistry, but not well-informed enough to understand how they can also create biochemical chaos.
There are factors other than diet that affect your nutrition.
Even thinking effects biochemistry. Whether we are aware of it or not, we are all behaving in ways that attempt to optimize our biochemistry all the time.
